Until 1995 this is what this is what my quick bio said:
Mr. Lloyd is president of a consulting firm, Lloyd Internetworking. His company assists large and small companies, government agencies, K12 schools, and community colleges in designing and building networks and connecting to the Internet. Mr. Lloyd, has been involved in internetworking since the early 1980's when he designed and implemented packet radio networks. Since then he has designed a number of internetworking products, including the Telebit NetBlazer, the industry's first dial-up router. Mr. Lloyd is a skilled speaker, writer, teacher, and leader. He was a member of the California Department of Education's Technical Advisory Committee which published the K12 Network Technology Planning Guide. In addition to contributing to the Guide, Mr. Lloyd wrote the paper `Security Issues in Internet Connectivity'. He is past chairman of the Internet Engineering Task Force's Point to Point Protocol (PPP) Working Group; and is co-author of The Internet Systems Handbook.
In 1996 I sold Lloyd Internetworking to Livingston Enterprises and stayed on to run it as a division doing software development. Livingston was acquired by Lucent Technologies so I ended up working for Lucent. After Lucent I worked for a couple of start-ups and then did consulting.
In the fall of 2002 I moved my family to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands to start a wireless internet service provider business. I have been here ever since living on my 48' catamaran "Take Two".
I probably should change that picture too. My hair is now a bit greyer around the edges.
